Impact Models Chatbot

Building on Liz Ruedy's seminal blog on the Six Models of Systems Change and Liz, Tom Glaisyer, and my recent update on Grappling with System Collapse, I created a chatbot for folks interested in operationalizing diverse mental models of impact.

The purpose of this generative AI chatbot is to support practitioners to explore what kind of impact metrics might be helpful to consider for the impact model(s) they are working under. Readers have expressed excitement to explore different mental models of impact but have reported some challenges in designing metrics for impact models outside of the "Transformative Model." This sandbox is set up to help you explore and trouble-shoot metrics for your particular impact model, issue area, and context.

Welcome to the Sandbox!

This chatbot is a work in progress! It was created using Chatbase (on the ChatGPT 4.0o model) and trained on the above articles as well as well-known resources about models of systems change. Please reach out to me if you'd like a full list of training materials. I also created a system prompt that would help the chatbot know what kinds of questions to ask the user to get to enough specificity to make recommendations. I kept the temperature relatively low so that the model wouldn't get too far afield of the source materials.

Please DO NOT PUT ANY PROPRIETARY OR SENSITIVE DATA INTO THE CHATBOT. Such data requires careful handling (such as anonymization, informed consent, and additional security precautions). Also, for full transparency, Chatbase gives designers (aka, me) access to all prompts put into the model, but not user information.

I look forward to hearing your feedback and how I can improve the bot! Thanks for testing it out!
